RIZQ ARE IN THE HAND OF ALLAH SWT
All Praises and thanks are due to Allah, The Beneficent the Merciful. Salaah
and Salam Upon The Messenger Of Allah (Sallalahu ‘alaihi Wa Salam)
I will
discuss a little about Rizq. It’s not to be directed to anybody in particular but to be
understood and reflected in ourselves. Rizq are in the hand of Allah The Almighty who has predestined and
determined them and, therefore, no one can increase or decrease them other than
Him.
In this regard,
Allah The Almighty Says:
فَأَمَّا الإِنسانُ
إِذا مَا ابتَلاهُ رَبُّهُ فَأَكرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَيَقولُ رَبّي أَكرَمَنِ
" As for humans, if their Lord tests it, then He
glorifies Him and gives Him pleasure, Then He will say:" My Lord has
glorified me ". (The Quran Al-Fajr (89): 15)
"But when He tests him
and tightens for him his provision, he says, ‘My Lord has humiliated me.” (The
Quran Al-Fajr (89): 16)
“Now,
criticizing the general moral state of the people, it is being said: After all,
why shouldn’t the men who have adopted such an attitude in the life of the
world, be ever called to account, and how can it be regarded as a demand of
reason and justice that when man has left the world, after doing all he could,
he should never receive any reward or suffer any punishment for his deeds.
This then is
man’s materialistic view of life. He regards the wealth and position and power
of this world alone as everything. When he has it, he is filled with pride and
says God has honored me; and when he fails to obtain it, he says: God has
humiliated me. Thus, the criterion of honor and humiliation in his sight is the
possession of wealth and position and power, or the absence of it, whereas the
truth which he does not understand is that whatever Allah has given anybody in
the world has been given for the sake of a trial. If he has given him wealth
and power, it has been given for a trial to see whether he becomes grateful for
it, or commits ingratitude. If he has made him poor, in this too there is a
trial for him to see whether he remains content and patient in the will of God
and faces his hardships bravely within permissible bounds, or becomes ready to
transgress every limit of morality and honesty and starts cursing his God”.
As recorded in Buhari and Muslim: The
Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever Allah wants good for him, he puts them to
test. He puts them through difficulties. Like a diamond or some metal that has
to be burnt and then that which is bad from it is removed so that you have that
which is the pure diamond or the pure gold or whatever. Put them to tests,
trials and difficulties."
One must understand that this world is run by
Allah. That one has no control over anything. All that happens is by the will
of Allah, you have no power to steer it your way. As we are aware, this world
is a place of test. And being so all that is in it is a test. It will last for
only so long and then Allah will make it better. No hardship is without
purpose, no suffering is without reward. The world will run as Allah wills it
to, there is no point in worrying about what comes as difficult. We only need
to believe and turn to HIM, Believe and have faith, Believe and earn rewards
and the Love of Allah. The
greater the test, the greater the reward, the greater the hardship the greater
the reward, the greater the difficulty, the greater the reward from Allah.
So welcome your hardships
for they are blessings. Know that Allah loves you. That is why He
wishes to purify you. Allah loves you and He has given you an opportunity to
come close to Him. Allah loves you and that is why He has allowed you to earn
more rewards. He loves you and that is why He put you through tribulations to
test your faith and love for HIM. Allah loves you and will never abandon you,
He just wishes for you to keep your faith strong in Him and earn more rewards.
As narrated by Tirmidhi and
Ibn Maajah : - The Prophet
(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
'’The
greater reward is with the greater trial or the greater the trial or difficulty
of test or hardship is then the greater the reward. And when Allah loves a
person, He put them on trial, The people as long as they are in good
health, good shape, good condition they are covered. You don't know their true
character because they are in good situation, they are in good circumstance. As
long as they are in a good circumstances they are covered. But if a trial or
difficulty or a hardship comes upon them, then you will see their reality. They
will go to their reality. The Mu'min will run to his Iman, the hypocrite will
run to his hypocrisy”.
From
above-mentioned hadith, we can conclude that a hardship and suffering is a
blessing in disguise. It is a moment of test, a test that once you pass with
patience, it will grant you reward more than you can imagine.
Allah
also states in Surah Al-Baqarah: 155-157
"We
will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth,
lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient. —those who, when an
affliction visits them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah, and to Him do we
indeed return.’ It is they who receive the blessings of their Lord and [His]
mercy, and it is they who are the [rightly] guided".
One should be joyous! That Allah is testing
you! That Allah has given you an opportunity because Allah loves you and wants
the best for you.
It is your patience that will get you
through, because you have complete faith in Allah that HE
will make it alright. There is nothing worth worrying about when your
life is controlled and is in the Hands of Allah The Almighty, The
Compassionate, The Most Loving. Run to Him for help. Run to Allah to find
solace that this time will be over, Run to HIM for that is what HE is testing
you for”.
Ibn Kathir rahimahullah interpreted
the verse above, "In the verse, Allah Ta'ala denies
anyone who misunderstands God's intention to expand rizki. God actually made it a test. But he thought with the extent of the rizki, that meant God
glorified him. Really not, actually it's
just a test.
As Allah the Exalted says:
أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا
نُمِدُّهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ بَل لا
يَشْعُرُونَ
Do they suppose that whatever aid We provide
them in regard to wealth and children [is because], We are eager to bring them
good? Rather they are not aware! (The Quran Surah Al-Mu’minum: 55-56)
When Allah takes rizki from us, we often think that He
loves us less now and therefore retrieve what we have, but that’s not true at
all. Like how Allah gives rizki even to people who may not do good in His name,
He can also take rizki from people that He loves. What matters most if how one
reacts to the circumstances?
Difficult and challenging situations are inevitably experienced by
everyone at some point in life. These conditions are tests from Allah Ta’ala in
order to elevate their status and increase their blessings.
I can’t say I’ve done
everything right, but I thank God for being patient with me. I’m sure can say
you haven’t done everything right also, but you can mightily lift your hands
and thank Allah that He’s been patient with you! Allah of course know which is
best for his servants.
Listen
to the words of Rasulullah Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa salam, it will cool your
heart, it will take you to that which is right, it will correct you, it will
guide you, it will increase your faith, and your patience.
"There is no difficulty that
happens to a Muslim except that Allah removes a sin because of it even if a
thorn pricks him and even to that degree."(Muslim)
