Narrated: Jabir
"The
leader of the hypocrites in Al- Madinah died, and left instructions that The Prophet (saw) should offer the funeral
prayer for him and shroud him in his shirt. He offered the funeral prayer for
him and shrouded him in his shirt, and
stood by his GRAVE. Then Allah revealed the words: ‘And never pray
(the funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his GRAVE." [9:84] Sahih

Prophet (saw) visited the GRAVE of his mother and wept,
causing the people around him to weep. Then he said: ‘I asked my Lord for permission to seek forgiveness
for her, but He did not give me permission. Then I asked my Lord for permission
to visit her GRAVE and
He gave me permission. So visit the GRAVEs, for they will remind
you of death.’" Hasan

Abu
Salih al-Ghifari reported: Ali (once) passed by Babylon during his travels. The
mu'adhdhin (the person who calls for prayer) came to him to call
for the afternoon prayer. When he passed by that place, he
commanded to announce for the prayer. After finishing the prayer he
said: My affectionate friend (i.e. the Prophet) prohibited me to say prayerin
the graveyard. He also forbade me to
offer prayer in Babylon because it is accursed.

Ibn Abbas
The
Prophet said: "I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were
ungrateful." It was asked, "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" (or
are they ungrateful to Allah?) He replied, "They are ungrateful to their
husbands and are ungrateful for the
favors and the good (charitable deeds) done to them. If you
have always beengood (benevolent) to one of them and then she sees something in you (not of
her liking), she will say, 'I have never received any good from
you."

Urwa bin Az-Zubair
Hakim
bin Hizam said, "O Allah's Apostle! I used to
do good deeds in the Pre-lslamic period of Ignorance,
e.g., keeping good relations
with my Kith and kin, manumitting slaves and giving alms. Shall I receive a
reward for all that?" Allah's Apostle replied, "You embraced Islam
with all the good deeds which
you did in the past."

Abu Huraira
Once
the Prophet entered the mosque, a man came in, offered the prayer and greeted the Prophet. The Prophet
returned his greeting and said to him, "Go back and pray again
for you have not prayed."
The man offered the prayer again, came back and greeted the
Prophet. He said to him thrice, "Go back and pray again for you
have not prayed." The man said, "By Him Who has sent you
with the truth! I do not know a better way of praying. Kindly teach
Me how topray." He said, "When you stand for the prayer, say
Takbir and then recite from the Qur'an what you know and then bow with calmness
till you feel at ease, then rise from bowing till you stand straight.
Afterwards prostrate calmly till you
feel at ease and then raise (your head) and sit with Calmness till you feel at
ease and then prostrate with calmness till you feel at ease in prostration and
do the same in the whole of your prayer."

Aisha
said that a Jewess came to her and mentioned the punishment in the grave, saying to her,
"May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave."
'Aisha then asked Allah's Apostle about the punishment of the grave.
He said, "Yes, (there is) punishment in the grave."
'Aisha added, "After that I never
saw Allah's Apostle but seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment in
the grave in every prayer he prayed."
